Adopt and Go Behind the Scenes
Have you ever imagined scratching a white rhino behind the ears, throwing lettuce into the jaws of a 2-ton hippo, or getting close enough to a tiger to count her stripes?
By adopting an animal at the Philadelphia Zoo, you share your love for animals by helping ours receive the best possible care. With exciting new benefits such as personal meet and greets with animals and their keepers, there has never been a more exciting time to support the Zoo.
For just
$150 per person, you can go where only zookeepers go!
If the adopting parent is a child and under the age of 13 they must be accompanied by (1) adult whose behind the scenes tour is complimentary on behalf of the Zoo.
Adopting an animal for yourself or as a gift is both rewarding and fun. As an adopt parent at any level you will receive a photograph of your animal, certificate of parentage, fact sheet and an invitation to Adopt Day.

How your support helps
The Zoo is currently home to over 1,300 animals from around the world, many of which are rare and endangered. With that many mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians to feed, the Zoo’s annual grocery bill is over $500,000. Your adopt purchase helps us buy apples, carrots, crickets, hay, monkey chow, mealworms and much more. Thank you!
Those marked with an asterisk "*" are also available for a personal meet and greet when you adopt at the $150 level and above. Humboldt penguins are only available for a personal meet and greet during the Summer months.
