The Philadelphia Zoo employs full-time and part-time seasonal employees beginning as early as March through varying times in or around October. The Zoo is open seven days a week; so seasonal employees have to be flexible to work a schedule that will include weekends, evenings and/or holidays.

Under the general direction of the Director of Events, the Events Staff Member is responsible for the execution of pivotal roles at events which are at or for the Philadelphia Zoo. A total amount of 1,200 working hours per 12 month time period is the maximum available for this position.
Counselors will take an active role in all camp activities and interact with children ages 4 to 13, volunteers, staff and Zoo guests. Counselors will perform camp-related duties such as implementing educational lessons, facilitating experiences with live animals, implementing games and activities and ensuring that objectives for camps are met.
T&T Camels, a third party vendor, is currently seeking seasonal Animal Attendants to work inside the Philadelphia Zoo at our camel ride, draft horse ride and pony ride exhibits. If you have experience with animals or would like to gain experience with animals, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Guest Relations Team Member

The Guest Relations Team Member will perform all vital functions of the Guest Relations Department, including but not limited to:
swan boat attendant
train operator (driver's license required)
Team Members will provide guests with information in accordance with the Zoo's mission statement, brand and goals. We are looking for people who enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather conditions, with the desire to exceed the expectations of our guests by providing friendly, enthusiastic and courteous service in a fun manner!

Seasonal Outreach Educator 2014
This position performs all vital functions of Outreach educational interpretation, including but not limited to, presenting programs for school auditoriums, classrooms, community and corporate events, after-school programs, preschools and birthday parties.
Under the supervision of the department manager or Lead Groundskeeper, the Gardener is responsible for maintaining the Zoo’s grounds, gardens and landscapes. Performs skilled and routine gardening duties. Routinely operates self-propelled equipment for landscape preparation, mulching and moving plants and debris. May provide training and supervision to other employees, interns or volunteers.

Public Safety Officer
The Seasonal Public Safety Officer will maintain a safe environment for Zoo guests, employees, volunteers, concessionaires and others as well as a secure environment for animals and all other assets of the Philadelphia Zoo.
