Seasonal Job Opportunities


The Philadelphia Zoo employs full-time and part-time seasonal employees beginning as early as March through varying times in or around October. The Zoo is open seven days a week; so seasonal employees have to be flexible to work a schedule that will include weekends, evenings and/or holidays.

The staff is committed to its mission and to assuring that every guest has an enjoyable and memorable experience. Guest Ambassador
This position is responsible for the execution of all vital functions involved in the delivery of Behind the Scenes experiences at the Philadelphia Zoo. Behind the scene programs gives guests’ an opportunity to get up-close with program animals and to meet one on one with animal keepers.
Garden Services Attendant
Operates under the direct supervision of a Garden Services Manager. Performs routine custodial tasks to maintain the cleanliness of indoor and/or outdoor public areas, administrative areas and service areas. Assists with snow and leaf removal, drain cleaning, event set up and take down, office moves and other tasks involving manual labor. 

The retail gift shops at the Philadelphia Zoo are operated by a third party vendor, Event Network.

Face Painter, Caricature Artist, Handimal Artist and Letter Brush Artist (Vendor- Kaman’s Art Shoppes)
The art services at the Philadelphia Zoo are operated by a third party vendor, Kaman’s Art Shoppes, INC. There are a variety of ways to get involved.
