Philadelphia Zoo to Host 5th Annual Summer Ale Festival

Philadelphia, PA - (June 3, 2013)- Philadelphia Zoo will bring regional craft beers and delicious local cuisine to its 42-acre garden on Saturday, July 20 from 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., rain or shine. An annual favorite, Philadelphia Zoo’s Summer Ale Festival combines an exceptional sampling of food and drink from the Greater Philadelphia area with brilliantly colored birds, majestic great apes, astonishing big cats and other wildlife that call America’s first zoo home for a unique, adults-only experience.

With an impressive crop of regional craft brews, Philadelphia and its surrounding areas have much to offer beer enthusiasts. This year, renowned breweries as well as those fresh to the scene will be participating, offering guests award-winning seasonal ales and selections of the brewers’ choosing. Pair beers from breweries such as Boxcar Brewing Company, Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company, Sly Fox Brewing Company, Triumph Brewing Company, Twin Lakes Brewing Company and Victory Brewing Company with delectable fare, representing a well-rounded range of cuisines. Participating restaurants include Mad Mex, The Pop Shop, Beer Cakes Philly, Hard Rock Café, The Waterworks Restaurant and Lounge, California Pizza Kitchen, Rembrandt’s, Qdoba Mexican Grill and more.

“We are thrilled to host Summer Ale Festival for a fifth year. There is something at the Zoo for guests of all ages, and this is our way of offering adults an exclusive experience and opportunity to get up close and personal with our animal collection, taste incredible food and ale, listen to music and have a great time among friends. All tickets include unlimited food and drink, a souvenir tasting cup, on-site parking and shuttle service to and from 30th Street Station.
