In use April through October (weather permitting)
Lace up your boots and hit the trail! You're headed inside the summer yard of the oldest residents at the Zoo—our Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises. You'll get mighty personal with the 500-pound inhabitants as you stand eye-to-eye, just inches away.
During your expedition, be sure to meet Mommy. One of the oldest living Galapagos tortoises in any U.S. zoo, she celebrated her 80th anniversary at the Zoo in 2012. Tortoise Trail is open every day from Memorial Day to Labor Day and on warm days in the spring and fall. In the winter, the tortoises can be seen inside the Reptile and Amphibian House.
