Philadelphia Zoo continues its transformation, installing a sign of the future
America’s first Zoo unveiled an iconic sign at its main gate entrance to welcome its 1.2 million annual visitors. The installation of the 10-foot granite, custom fabricated aluminum and flat cut polished stainless steel sign marks an important milestone in the Zoo’s ongoing transformation, which includes the recent opening of the Centennial District Intermodal Transportation Center, a 683-spot parking garage, and KidZooU: Hamilton Family Children’s Zoo & Faris Family Education Center, a new indoor-outdoor wildlife academy. Inspired by the Zoo’s logo, the sign provides a new backdrop for visitors’ photos and acts as a beacon of an enhanced, even more memorable wildlife experience. The sign, designed by Gecko Group and fabricated by L&H Companies, is a symbol representing the recent strides in the evolution of Philadelphia Zoo, and the many developments still to come.
