Camp Counselor Assistant

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2014 summer season.

Did you love camp as a kid? Have you ever wanted to learn what it takes to be a camp counselor? Volunteering as a camp counselor assistant at the Philadelphia Zoo will teach you everything you need to know.

This summer, Wildlife Warriors Zoo Camp is brand new. Campers will experience daily live animal encounters and take action to help wildlife from across the globe. Camp counselor assistants serve an important role as a mentor to young campers, setting a good example for how to become a champion for wildlife!  The Philadelphia Zoo offers full-day programs (including before and after camp options) for children ages 4 to 13 years old in June, July and August. All programs are targeted to specific age groups.

As a volunteer, you will work side by side with Zoo camp counselors to ensure camp activities are completed in a safe and fun manner. Counselor Assistants will teach kids to care about animals and take an active role in saving them. Volunteers may have the opportunity to visit behind-the-scenes areas of the Zoo and assist KidZooU keepers with their daily tasks.
