Digital Marketing

Duties

Join the Zoo’s marketing team and help us drive attendance and build awareness of Zoo initiatives. The Digital Marketing Intern will support the Digital Strategist and Marketing Department with daily activities and projects. This position will also assist in the execution of various aspects of marketing campaigns to maximize outreach, engagement, and campaign performance. Specific duties and projects may include:
  • Monitor and support all social platforms and digital marketing efforts.
  • Help with the development and implementation of social growth opportunities and fan engagement
  • Perform website updates
  • Assist in video filming and editing
  • Draft press materials and managing online calendars
  • Maintain and create media lists
  • Offer support at press events and other on-site media opportunities (filming, photos, interviews, etc.)
  • Help compile reports and statistics for all digital marketing campaigns, contests and initiatives
  • Aid in any other relevant projects that emerge over the internship
  • Analyze website and social media trends using analytic resources (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights)
  • As required, assist with special projects related to important company initiatives (social media, digital marketing, email marketing, etc.)
  • Collaborate with external agencies to manage projects
  • Communicate key learning/insights to supervisors and internal clients
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • College junior or senior with a concentration in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field
  • A grade point average of 2.5 or higher
  • Professional presentation and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to complete projects ahead of or by deadlines
  • Ability to multitask
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Punctuality
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Proficiency with popular social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiarity with web content management systems
  • Experience with public relations writing

Availability

This internship is an unpaid position, however your institution may allow you to receive college credit. This position is offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters (hours differ based on season). Scheduling is flexible but may require some nights and weekends.
