Giving ZooDay

WHAT IS #GIVINGZOODAY?

#GivingZOOday is about the impact zoos and aquariums have on their communities by engaging visitors to be stewards of the environment and save species from extinction. It’s also about how these institutions give back by mentoring their staff and volunteers to support a wide range of causes.

HOW THE ZOO IS PARTICIPATING:

You've experienced the magestic animals of Philadelphia Zoo. Now, help give others that same opportunity.

The Community Access Program (CAP) is a major component of the Philadelphia Zoo’s commitment to the community and to creating future generations of environmental stewards.

CAP provides free admission to:
  • School children and their teachers from underserved schools and  neighborhoods.
  • Community organizations whose mission and organizational goals  support exploration and education for children and families.
Philadelphia Zoo is the region’s largest living classroom, and has been providing enriching and educational experiences to students for generations. Over the past decade, CAP has made free visits to the Philadelphia Zoo possible for more than 425,000 underserved students, enabling them to encounter more than 2,500 animals in this beautiful and historic garden setting.
