Scout and Group Programming

Gather your troops for a wild adventure at Philadelphia Zoo!

The Zoo offers special programming for girl scouts, boy scouts, and other groups compliment your visit to Philadelphia Zoo. These programs present unique opportunities to experience wildlife and discover the natural world in ways only the Zoo can offer. Explore the Zoo and learn about the natural world in a guided experience, all while completing scouting requirements along the way! Non-scouts such as campers, YMCAs, and other youth groups will also find these programs to be perfect complements to their visits.
Have a child who is interested in animals and would like to attend camp? Join Philadelphia Zoo as they present Animal Advocates camp with our partner ESF. The camps are held at various ESF sites and are for rising grades 3 -7. Special discounts are available for Zoo members – offer expires April 13. Learn more now!
With each program, participants will investigate various aspects of the natural world and explore different zoo wildlife and ways to help in their conservation efforts. This is done through challenges, solving animal riddles, and more.

Programs are designed to be completed at your own pace during any Zoo visit. They are recommended for grades K-8 and their chaperones.

 Guardians of the Rainforest

Meet many of the rainforest animals that live at the Philadelphia Zoo, including endangered orangutans, gorillas, tigers, and many more. Discover why the rainforest is in danger and how we can empower ourselves to save it.

Water and Wildlife

Learn how both animals and people depend on clean water and what we can do to protect this precious resource. Discover many of the aquatic animals here at the Zoo, including frogs, turtles, otters, hippos, and penguins, and the amazing ways they live a watery life.

Planet Protectors

Learn how the Zoo works to save endangered species all over the world in this adventurous program. Learn about the natural balance that exists in nature, the threats that species meet, and the ways wildlife researchers and conservationists work to save animals. Explore the Zoo with an animal expert in this adventurous program. Discover animals in your community and what you can do to help them. Learn about animals like insects, snakes, owls, and many more. Find out how you can explore the wilds, whether it is the Zoo or your own backyard. Learn a few things you can do to help wildlife in your neighborhood, like making birdfeeders, planting flowers, and more.
