The Wildlife Warrior Summer Camp engages children in the ultimate eco-hero challenge. In addition to being immersed in hands-on live animal experiences, each week campers are given a different mission –
-
Mission Possible: Frog Rescuers
Gather intelligence on amphibians, "spy" on primates and gather the facts about big cats in this weeklong mission to save frogs. Campers in this mission test out their energy saving skills by bulding solar ovens and challenge their physical abilities to the
"Recycling Relay Spy Training Challenge".
-
Mission Possible: Polar Bear Protectors
Take on the identity of a field scientist in this camp all about saving energy to save wildlife. Investigate how polar bears are affected by climate change, run science experiments and spy on penguins and polar bears. As part of this mission campers will use their creative energy saving skills to turn a banana into an energy generator!
-
Mission Possible: Butterfly Guardians
Gather evidence about how saving water can save wildlife, in particular migrating animals. Campers investigate life forms hiding in Bird Lake pond, re-create extreme weather experiments, become rainforest zoologists and rescue animals from a mock oil spill. Campers also challenge their speed and physical abilities during our
"Great Migrations Spy Training".
Each mission includes investigative Zoo hikes, double-agent infiltration assignments (
a.k.a working alongside keepers to prepare diet and enrichment for our animal residents), behind the scenes tours and close encounters with animals. Campers are challenged to meet weekly Wildlife Warrior goals connected to how simple everyday choices around saving energy, water and recycling that can save animals.
