Off of the Library were two bedrooms: the larger bedroom was only ten and half feet square, and that, we presume, is where Penn kept his “field bedstead on castors with sacking bottom and furniture stripe cotton curtains.” Next door an even smaller bedroom contained a sleeping alcove furnished with plate-printed cotton curtains depicting William Penn’s treaty with the Indians.
