Conservation Educator, ZooCrew
Under the direction of the Director of Conservation Engagement, the Conservation Educator coordinates the volunteer programs with a special emphasis on the teen volunteer program – ZooCrew (Zoo Champions for Restoring Endangered Wildlife). In addition, the Conservation Educator works with the team to enhance the guest experience at the Zoo through informal interaction and formal education programs. They also assist in implementing the Zoo’s conservation integration strategy in all programs and throughout all areas in the Zoo.
Coordinator of Audience Research
The Philadelphia Zoo is seeking a candidate to develop and manage an audience database, coordinate and support research projects in audience engagement, and conduct program evaluation.
Help Desk Technician
Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology the Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing support, setup and maintenance summarized as: troubleshooting hardware / software, telecommunications and general workstation and networking issues.
Temporary Equipment Operator
Under the supervision of the Grounds Manager, the Equipment Operator is responsible for maintaining Zoo grounds and physical facilities by operating equipment, vehicles and associated tools. Performs routine grounds maintenance functions as required. May supervise work of temporary staff as assigned.
Temporary Maintenance Mechanic Carpenter
Performs carpentry and related construction and miscellaneous general maintenance work for buildings and exhibits.
Temporary Maintenance Mechanic – General
Performs routine preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of building systems under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Facilities. Performs all work in compliance with applicable codes and with established performance standards.
Curator of Primates and Small Mammals
The Philadelphia Zoo seeks an experienced and enthusiastic individual for the position of Curator of Primates and Small Mammals. The curator directly oversees a staff of thirteen keepers. The collection includes over twenty species of primates and over twenty species of small mammals. Primary responsibilities include oversight of husbandry and exhibition, collection planning, staff scheduling, personnel management, facility management, and review, development and implementation of safety and operational policies.
Public Safety Officer
To maintain a safe and secure Zoo environment for Zoo assets, guests, employees, volunteers, concessionaires, animals, and all other personnel of the Philadelphia Zoo. The Public Safety Officer will project positive public relations with a strong focus on guest satisfaction, while always promoting a positive image of Zoo and the Public Safety Department.
