Duties
The Philadelphia Zoo seeks an energetic Membership Coordinator. Under the direction of the Director of Membership and Business Solutions, the Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Zoo’s $7.4 million membership program with emphasis on acquisition and renewal initiatives, benefit fulfillment and data management. As one of the region’s most visited attractions, and with a membership base of 60,000, the Zoo continues to set standards for quality programming and for affinity among its members. The Membership Coordinator will play an integral role in forwarding this mission.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and maintain solicitation schedule for renewal, lapsed and acquisition campaigns.
- Assist in the production of membership materials including brochures, monthly renewals, e-newsletters, invitations and website content.
- Plan member events and programs.
- Help develop and manage annual revenue and expense budgets.
- Work within Marketing Department to promote feature experience, public programs and events.
- Identify, create and manage membership database reports. Maintain a schedule to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Create and prepare lists and exports for all member communications.
- Create and prepare exports and reports of all financial activity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-4 years of membership experience.
- The successful candidate will have a proven track record working within a dynamic member-supported organization, experience with direct mail and telemarketing.
- A strong background in membership databases, Excel, Crystal Reports and SQL preferred.
- Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
- Demonstrated customer service skills; ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships within the organization and with outside vendors; superior interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse personalities; tactful; mature; flexible.
- Strong problem solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks.
- Satisfactory completion of a post-offer background check including criminal records, PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Fingerprinting for non-PA residents.
- Successful completion of a post-offer drug test and TB test.
Availability
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings and holidays.
