Welcome to the Philadelphia Zoo Summer Camp 2012 Online Registration
Before you start, be sure to have your credit card and membership card ready. You can make payments in installments but you will be required to pay a $3.00 convenience fee for each transaction. You can also register and pay offline using a personal check. The Doubleknot registration system will guide you through the process.
Please be sure to enter your child’s name on the first page of the registration. You may register more than one child at the same time only if they are attending the same camp. If you are registering children for multiple camps, you will need to register each child individually.
To begin, click on your child’s age below, then choose the camp and dates you wish to attend. When you click on the dates, you will be directed to the Doubleknot registration system.

Half-day Camps - 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
3 to 4-year-olds, 1 week sessions
June 11-15, July 23-27, August 13-17
$225 members, $250 nonmembers
Three-to-four-year-olds take their first journey into the amazing world of animals in this half-day camp. Critter Campers learn how animals move, what sounds they make, and what they eat. Campers will meet a variety of live animals, engage in animal sing-alongs, create critter crafts, share stories, and go on adventures throughout the Zoo.
Full Day Camps - 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
4 to 5-year-olds, 1 week sessions
June 25-29, July 9-13, July 16-20, July 30 - August 3, August 6-10
$300 members, $325 nonmembers
In this one week camp, 4 to 5-year-olds discover the richness of the rainforest from the forest floor to the emergent layer. Rainforest Rompers will get up-close animal encounters to learn all about the critters that call the rainforest home and learn ways to help them. Campers will also create crafts, explore the zoo, play games and join in our exciting seasonal attraction, The Trail of the Lorax!
Zooper Troopers
4 to 5-year-olds, 2 week sessions
June 11-22, June 25 - July 6, July 23 - August 3, August 6-17
$525 members, $550 nonmembers
In this two-week animal adventure, 4 to 5-year-olds uncover the similarities and differences in the animal kingdom. We make animal classification fun and easy by singing songs, playing games, creating crafts and meeting some of the coolest mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and insects on the planet. On the final day of camp, parents are invited to our Zooper Trooper performance where they show off what they’ve learned in their very own animal costume creations.
6 to 7-year-olds, 2 week sessions
June 11-22, June 25-July 6, July 9-20, August 6-17

From dry deserts to tropical rainforests, Zoo Explorers discover how animals are built to survive. Each day, 6 to 7-year-olds explore a different habitat and uncover the diversity of animals who live there. Zoo Explorers learn the many ways kids can help protect animal homes. To celebrate what they’ve learned, Zoo Explorers transform their classroom into their favorite habitat and on their last day of camp, take their families on a wild adventure.
8 to 9-year-olds, 3 week sessions
June 18 - July 6, July 9-27, July 30 - August 17

During this wild journey 8 to 9-year-old Safari Trekkers discover the amazing relationships between humans and animals. By traveling to exotic places, campers will uncover the mysteries of animals around the world. They then will explore the role of animals in their own lives and what it takes to care for a pet. Safari Trekkers will learn how to use enrichment to provide a safe and happy home for a variety of animals. All this, through close encounters with live animals, games, art, music and mythology! Join us on the Safari Trekkers’ last day of camp as they showcase what they’ve experienced in their grand finale, Animal-palooza.
10 to 11-year-olds, 3 week sessions

10 to 11-year-old campers get the inside scoop on how the Philadelphia Zoo provides a safe and healthy home to our 1,200 animals. Campers discover how to care for our exotic and endangered species through exclusive encounters with animals and staff. Junior Zoo Interns experience the many aspects of animal care, from nutrition and training to exhibit design. They work as a team to apply what they’ve learned to create their own model zoo, which families are invited to tour on their last day of camp.
12 to 13-year-olds, 3-week sessions
June 18 - July 6, July 9-27, July 30 - August 17

12 and 13 year-old Young Zoologists take their love of animals to a whole new level! Campers engage in activities designed to give them a glimpse into the world of a real animal expert. From veterinary medicine to wildlife field research, campers will learn about the array of careers that include working with animals. Onsite experiences and weekly field trips bring campers in contact with real animal scientists. Young Zoologists will also experience the life of a wildlife conservationist, engaging in such skill-building activities as orienteering, geocaching, animal tracking/identification and data analysis, all presented in a fun and engaging atmosphere. Campers will learn about the many ways the Philadelphia Zoo is helping animals worldwide and will have the chance to spread the word about saving species with the ultimate camp finale: “Operation Conservation.”
14 to 15-year-olds, 3-week sessions.

Campers ages 14 to 15 are invited to train in the Zoo’s Adventure Guide program to see what it takes to become an environmental educator! This program provides skill-building opportunities by working directly with one of our experienced conservation educators. Adventure Guides learn how to present topics related to the environment and conservation, help counselors engage campers in a variety of activities and are trained to handle and present a select group of our teaching collection animals.
