Payments for advance sale admissions and program registrations are accepted at the Zoo's Box office at the main entrance a minimum of two days prior to your trip. 

Payment Policies

  • The Zoo accepts school district purchase orders, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and business checks. Cash is accepted in person only.  No personal checks.
  • All reservations require a $50 deposit paid within two weeks of your order date to secure your reservation.
  • Your tickets will be mailed if full payment or a Purchase Order is received at least two weeks prior to your scheduled visit.  Tickets will be held at the Zoo's Will Call window for payments received less than two weeks from scheduled visit.
  • Reservations not paid in advance may be paid at the Zoo's Box Office on the day of your trip. Please allow additional time to your trip for payment and printing of admission tickets - delays may be long.
  • Additional tickets may be purchased for your group on the day of your visit and may be paid for at the Zoo's Box Office. Cash or credit cards only, no personal checks accepted.

Chaperones

  • Students must be chaperoned by a minimum of one adult for every ten students.
  • Chaperones must be 21 years of age or older.
  • With every ten advance student tickets purchased, one complimentary chaperone admission will be provided, except where otherwise noted. This policy is valid with a minimum order of 15 paid tickets.

 

Membership Policies

Students, teachers, chaperones and their families who are members of the Zoo may use their valid membership cards (photo copies are not accepted) to gain admission with their group. Guest privileges may not be extended to classmates, students or other teachers. The Zoo reserves the right to charge admission to anyone who misrepresents membership privileges.

Parking Policies and Procedures

All buses coming to the Zoo are required to park along 34th Street in the south lot and in the 35th Street lot along Girard Avenue. All buses park for free. Buses are to follow all signs and the flaggers that are directing them to their spot. Buses are NOT to drop off and pick up at the front of the Zoo. Buses that are transporting handicapped individuals will be allowed to drop-off and pick-up at the designated area. Buses that drop-off their students and leave, are required to pick them up at the same spot.

Cars that are following buses are able to park in the lots along Girard Avenue, and in the 34th Street lot. Cars, trucks and vans will be charged $12. This price is non-negotiable. Members with proper I.D. park for free.

 

 Entrance and Departure Procedures

One leader on each bus should hold the admission tickets for their group. Prior to exiting the bus, the leader should distribute tickets to each individual student in his or her group. All attendees to the Zoo will need to have a ticket to gain admittance through the automated turnstiles.

Advance school group tickets expire one year from the date of your scheduled visit. Tickets are non-refundable.

Additional individual tickets for guests arriving with your group may be purchased on the day of your visit at the Zoo's Box Office. You will be charged the Zoo's advanced school group rate.

Individuals who do not arrive with their group will be charged the general admission rates.

All bus drivers are admitted to the Zoo for free. Bus drivers must obtain a ticket at the Zoo's box office to gain free admission.

All groups must exit through the Zoo's main entrance at the north end of the Zoo. Buses will pick up their groups at the 35th or 38th street parking lots on Girard Avenue.

Cancellations and Refunds

Payments for programs or field trips canceled more than four weeks before your scheduled trip will be refunded or credited toward a new trip scheduled within one calendar year. Deposits are non-refundable but can be used for future programs.

Payments for programs or field trips canceled four weeks or less before your scheduled trip will be forfeited or may be credited toward a trip scheduled within one calendar year of the original order.
