APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
ADULTS: Please submit a completed
volunteer application. If your availability and interests match our volunteer opportunities, we will contact you for an interview. If there are no available matches at the time your information is received, we will keep your information on file for 90 days.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: Please submit a signed
volunteer application, two completed
Recommendation Forms from adults not related to you and a copy of your last report card. Incomplete applications will be returned.

CAREER INTERNSHIPS: Please submit a completed
intern application, letter of interest stating which internship(s) you are applying for and why, resume, letter of recommendation and copy of your college transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable). Please compile all the required documents and submit them as a complete packet. ONLY COMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

All new volunteers are required to submit a cleared
PA State Criminal Background Check and
PA Child Abuse Clearance prior to beginning work at the Philadelphia Zoo. Volunteers must submit a cleared PA Child Abuse Clearance. Please
click here for instructions for completing the clearances.
Volunteers 18 and older whose permanent residence is outside Pennsylvania may also need to complete an FBI clearance including fingerprinting.
