This seldom-explored country is one of the world's last unspoiled treasures. The stunning, vast horizons are home to a nomadic, horse-based culture, herds of Bactrian camels, the ubiquitous gers, stark mountains and the renowned Gobi Desert. The rich variety of undisturbed habitats makes Mongolia one of the best temperate wildlife-viewing countries of the world. The eastern steppe supports immense herds of Mongolian Gazelles - the largest hers of wild hoofed animals in the world outside of Africa. The world's last true wild horse, the Przewalski Horse, now runs free and the Mongolian Altai remains a stronghold for the queen of cats, the elusive Snow Leopard.

During your journey you will stay in classic gers, hotels, and an award-winning eco lodge in the heart of Mongolia's legendary Gobi Desert. Enjoy the hospitality of welcoming nomads. Meet with Snow Leopard Trust and World Wildlife representatives to discuss conservation efforts in Mongolia. While there is no denying the thrill of seeing spectacular wildlife or the pleasure of a great day's birding, visitors to Mongolia always go away with travelers' tales, but they return as many do looking to recapture the sense of peace that they have found nowhere else.
