The Zoo gives back to the Philadelphia region through its conservation granting program
In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Zoo’s charter, we're giving back to our community in a number of ways, including shifting our international granting program to support locally-based environmental programs in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware tri-state area. Eligible programs focus on individual or group efforts that address one or more of the following focal areas:
- Wildlife conservation
- Environmental protection
- Sustainability
- Greening initiatives
- Open space
- Conservation education
- Environmental awareness
Preference has been given to projects in the Philadelphia region, but more widely distributed initiatives within the tri-state area have also been considered. Fifteen grants for up to $1,500 each were awarded.
