Kids go wild for Summer Camp at the Philadelphia Zoo!
Philadelphia Zoo Summer Camp gives children ages 3 to 15 years old the opportunity to learn about the wonderful world of animals in an exciting environment. Zoo campers will spend their day surrounded by more than 1,300 animals from around the world.
The Zoo offers full-day and half-day programs ranging from one to three weeks in length in June, July and August. All programs are targeted to specific age groups. For information about dates and fees,

Summer Camp Registration Information
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve space for your child, a $50 per camper non-refundable deposit is required. Early bird registration must be received and paid in full prior to April 1, 2010. Full camp payments must be received by June 1, 2010. Payments must be made in order to guarantee your child(ren)’s participation in Zoo Camp. Your registration may be cancelled and filled from a waiting list if full payment is not received by June 1, 2010. For your convenience, registration and payment can now be made

The
HEALTH/PERMISSION FORM found in the Summer Camp Handbook must be received in advance of the start of camp or enrollment may be cancelled and your deposit forfeited. No refunds are available after the first day of camp.

Extended Day Options are available for full-day campers; pre-registration is required.
Before Camp 8:00-9:00 a.m. • $30 per week
After Camp 3:00-5:00 p.m. • $60 per week
New this year, we have created a
Summer Camp Handbook with frequently asked questions and all of the information you should need for your child(ren)’s summer camp experience.
The Zoo will host two orientation events for families to meet the camp staff. The orientation dates are: Monday, June 7, 2010 and Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Please make us aware of any
special needs your child may have so that we can assess which program is most appropriate for you. The Zoo maintains a ratio of one counselor for every 11 campers for ages 6-15 year olds and one counselor for every 8 campers for ages 3-5 year olds. Aides are permitted; however arrangements must be made ahead of time by calling 215-243-56001 or email us at

We’re continuing to go green and you can join our efforts! Participate in our Footprints carbon offset program! Donate $2 per week of camp to help the Philadelphia Zoo plant trees in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park and Borneo, which helps to prevent climate change and save endangered wildlife.
Pending available funding, limited scholarships
(see form) are offered for
full-day camps. Applicants must send a letter of need along with current proof of income (1040 form, SSI letter or DPA form). Scholarship requests will not be considered without proper documentation. Scholarship requests (including the $50 deposit to reserve a space) must be submitted by April 1, 2010.
