Scout Workshops

Gather your troops for a wild adventure at the Philadelphia Zoo!

The Zoo offers special daytime badge programs for girl scouts and boy scouts of all ages. These programs present unique opportunities to experience wildlife and discover the natural world in ways only the Zoo can offer. Scouts hike the zoo with an animal expert, meet animals up close and personal, and play games all while complete scouting requirements along the way!

New Badge Program for Scouts!
scout patch

Attention all Scouts! We are excited to announce a new badge program, Guardian of the Rainforest, designed by the Philadelphia Zoo and Girl Scouts, Madison Vorva and Rhiannon Tomtishen. Rainforests are home to many endangered animals including the orangutan. In this badge program, you can learn how you can save these animals from extinction as well as more about rainforests and the animals that live there. If you are looking to complete your Junior Girl Scout Animal Habitats Badge, this program fits perfectly! Scouts will also receive a Zoo patch.

Guardian of the Rainforest can be completed anywhere! Download the information and activity packets (PDFs) and follow the directions. You can also come to the Philadelphia Zoo and do this program as a daytime workshop or themed overnight.
