Hint for Members!
Avoid delays by taking alternate routes to the Zoo. Take Belmont or Lancaster to Girard, or take the Spring Garden Street or Montgomery Avenue exits off of the Schuylkill Expwy. On weekdays, take the Sweet Briar exit from MLK (West River) Drive. Or if you’re coming from Center City, take Sedgley and Poplar Drive just off of Kelly Drive. Be sure to check traffic reports for local closures!

The Zoo is making it even easier for you to visit.
Now through Labor Day on weekends only, members can visit beginning at 8:30 a.m., an hour earlier before the general public. The South Gate, located in the Frog Parking Lot at 34th Street and Zoological Drive, will now be open all summer-long.
