Everybody will be flocking to the Philadelphia Zoo’s newest exhibit – the engaging
McNeil Avian Center.
Check out a virtual tour for a sneak peek of what's to come, or download our handy
Field Guide for facts and photos of our feathered friends.
Saturday, May 30 marks our grand opening weekend and we invite you and your flock to help us welcome beautiful
rhinoceros hornbills, exotic
Victoria crowned pigeons, crafty hammerkops and more to their new home inside the $17 million renovation of the Zoo’s original 1916 Bird House. Explore exhibits such as the Center’s African Savanna, Pacific Islands, Tropical Rainforest and the Central American Shade Coffee Plantation, which immerse visitors in the exotic landscape of each bird species while these feathered friends soar overhead and sing from the trees. See training demonstrations and feedings, and learn about migration in the Zoo’s new multi-sensory 4-D Migration Theater.
