Explore the diversity of Africa - from a camel's back! You'll tower over the crowds as you wander through
African Plains. Come and hitch a ride on an authentic African transport.
In Africa, the camel is known as the ship of the desert and has many unbelievable adaptations that help it survive in some of the world's hottest deserts. Their big feet allow them to walk on top of soft sand without sinking. In addition to eyelids like ours, camels have a second see-through eyelid that they close to keep out sand. Probably the most incredible adaptation is the hump. Most people think it's filled with water, but it's not. It's actually filled with fat, and camels use that fat to survive when water's hard to find.
Restrictions
Due to safety standards, some adult riders may not be able to ride the camels. Our ride operators will make the final decision on who will be able to ride. Many factors are considered including a guest’s body size relative to the size of the camel and the camel saddle. We appreciate your understanding.
USDA regulations require that all riders must meet the appropriate weight load for an animal.
