Philadelphia Zoo elephants arrive at new home in Fairhope, Somerset County, PA

The Philadelphia Zoo’s two female African elephants, Kallie and Bette, left the Zoo on the evening of Tuesday, July 7, and arrived at their new home at Pittsburgh Zoo’s 724-acre International Conservation Center (ICC) during the early morning on Wednesday, July 8. On their trip, they were accompanied by Philadelphia and Pittsburgh Zoo staff and the five hour journey to the ICC went exactly as planned. The Philadelphia Zoo community wishes Kallie and Bette all the best in their new home.
