Completed in 1980, Bear Country replaced the Zoo's historic bear pits originally constructed in 1874. In this new land of gushing waterfalls, babbling brooks and cool, deep pools, you'll discover an array of burly bears from around the world-sloth bears, spectacled bears, polar bears and an Asiatic black bear.
