A monkey with... no thumbs?
The name, Colobus, is derived from the Greek word for "mutilated," referring to their lack of thumbs.

It's a family thing
Typically, a family affair, when a female has a baby, all of the females in the group take responsibility in raising it. Native to Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and other African countries, these monkeys are strict leaf eaters.
In the wild, they like tender young leaves found in treetops. Their unique, complex digestive system allows them to consume some vegetation that other monkeys cannot.
Black & white colobus are easily distinguishable by their U-shaped mantle of long white fur that starts at its shoulders and goes all the way around its back. They also have long white tails and white fur surrounding their faces.
