How do I purchase tickets/membership?

Timed ticket reservations are required for all members and guests. Tickets must be pre-purchased online only.

Where do I park and is there a fee?

Zoo parking is available in several lots and the Zoo Parking Garage along both Girard Avenue and 34th Street. Handicap spaces and spaces for vans are available in both Tiger Lot and the Parking Garage. Parking costs $17 per vehicle. Members park FREE - one vehicle per membership.

What are the Zoo's hours?

Philadelphia Zoo is open every day of the year except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The Zoo is open 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Can I bring my own food and drink into the Zoo?

Yes, you may bring outside food into the Zoo. Please note, coolers and bags will be checked upon entering the Zoo.

Does the Zoo offer a military/veteran discount?

Ordinarily, the Zoo offers a military/veteran discount for all tickets bought on-site at the Box Office. However, due to new health and safety precautions, tickets (including military/veteran tickets) must be purchased online and discounts are temporarily unavailable.

Does the Zoo offer wheelchairs/electric scooters?

Yes. Wheelchairs and electric scooters are available to rent (wheelchairs are $8/day and electric scooters are $30/day) at the Zoo's Main Entrance. They are available on a first-come first-served basis. We do not take reservations. TEST

Does the Zoo offer strollers?

Single and double strollers are available to rent (single strollers are $10/day and double strollers are $12/day) at the Zoo's Main Entrance. They are available on a first-come first-served basis. We do not take reservations.

Can I smoke in the Zoo?

Smoking is not permitted inside the Zoo premises.

Are service animals allowed in the Zoo?

Service animals as defined by the ADA guidelines are allowed in the Zoo. Guests with service animals are asked to please alert a Guest Relations staff member at the Zoo’s Main Entrance upon arrival.

Are pets allowed in the Zoo?

For the health of our animals, no pets are permitted in the Zoo. Only service animals as defined by ADA guidelines are permitted in the Zoo.

Can I leave the Zoo and re-enter?

Guests wishing to leave and re-enter the Zoo must receive a hand stamp from our Guest Relations team upon leaving the Zoo for same-day re-entry only.

Does the Zoo have family restrooms?

Yes. Family restrooms are located at the Main Entrance, KidZooU, WildWorks plaza, and across from the Colobus monkeys at the south end of the Zoo.

Does the Zoo offer a group discount rate?

Yes. The Zoo offers special discount rates to groups of 15 or more. Please call 215-243-5235 or email [email protected] to reserve your trip.

Are there any items banned from the Zoo?

The following items are not permitted within the Zoo: Weapons/firearms or items that appear to be weapons, including toy guns; knives/blades longer than 3.5 inches; clubs, hammers, martial arts devices, and related items; flammable liquids and gases greater than 0.5 oz. Fireworks, ammunitions, explosive devices, and related materials. Paint and related marking materials; spray cans and other aerosols. Other items deemed dangerous, suspicious, or inappropriate.

Does the Zoo allow drones?

Use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drones), or any similar remote-controlled vehicles/flying devices, is not permitted on the property without prior approval.
