Perfect for artists of all ages, Wild Workshops at Philadelphia Zoo bring everyone together for hands-on, nature-inspired creativity!
Each session features a brand-new craft—from birdhouses and tote bags to flower pots and more. Follow easy, step-by-step instructions while adding your own unique artistic flair. No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided. Best of all, you’ll leave each workshop with a one-of-a-kind creation to take home and enjoy!

Grandparent’s Day Memory Frames (All Ages)
Celebrate Grandparent’s Day by creating a meaningful keepsake to remember your day at the Philadelphia Zoo as a family. In this family-friendly workshop, participants will decorate a wildlife-inspired picture frame using paint and creative details to make it uniquely their own. After creating their frame, families will have the opportunity to capture a special photo together to display inside their finished piece. All materials are provided, and families will leave with a one-of-a-kind keepsake celebrating their time together.
Paint Your Own Animal (All Ages. Recommended Age: 5+)
This fun, family-friendly painting class invites children to create their own animal-inspired masterpiece. Each recurring class will feature a different animal, giving families a new painting experience to enjoy with every visit. Participants will paint their own canvas while adding their own creative touches through color and detail. No painting experience is needed, and all materials are provided. Pre-outlined canvases are available for artists that would like some extra guidance! You’ll leave with a completed 8”x10” canvas to take home and proudly display.
Pinecone Bird Feeders (All Ages. Recommended Age: 5+)
Celebrate local wildlife by creating a pinecone bird feeder that’s perfect for young nature enthusiasts or avid birdwatchers. Participants will assemble their own bird feeder using animal-safe materials and learn how to hang it at home to attract a variety of backyard birds. This hands-on workshop is a fun way to encourage an appreciation for local wildlife while creating an easy take-home project. All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a completed bird feeder ready for birds of all kinds to enjoy!
Pumpkin Painting (All Ages)
Get into the Halloween spirit by creating your own painted mini pumpkin! Participants will decorate a pumpkin using colorful paints and Halloween-inspired designs, from smiling jack-o’-lantern faces to friendly ghosts, bats, spiders, and more, while adding their own creative touches. All materials are provided. You’ll leave with a completed painted pumpkin that’s ready to display throughout the Halloween season!
Autumn Lanterns (All Ages)
Welcome the cozy season by creating a beautiful lantern inspired by the colors of autumn. In this family-friendly workshop, participants will decorate a lantern using vibrant fall leaves, natural-inspired accents, twine, and other seasonal embellishments to create a one-of-a-kind piece of home décor. Complete with a battery-operated LED candle, your finished lantern will bring a warm autumn glow to your home all season long.
Winter Garlands (All Ages)
Celebrate the beauty of winter by creating a handcrafted garland perfect for decorating your home all season long. In this family-friendly workshop, participants will design and assemble a unique garland using hand-cut paper snowflakes, beads, felt accents, and other seasonal embellishments. With a variety of templates and materials to choose from, every garland will be one of a kind. Whether you’re decorating a mantel, window, or cozy corner of your home, you’ll leave with a beautiful piece of winter décor and memories made together.
Tote Bag Painting (All Ages. Recommended Age: 8+)
Create a one-of-a-kind tote bag inspired by wildlife and nature in this fun, beginner-friendly workshop. Each recurring class will feature a different animal or seasonal design, giving participants a new project to enjoy with every visit. Participants will follow simple, step-by-step instructions while adding their own creative touches. No artistic experience is needed, and all materials are provided. You’ll leave with a personalized 16”x15” tote bag that’s uniquely your own!
