African Culture Fest
Philadelphia Zoo is partnering with Odunde365 to bring a weekend of African culture, dance, and food to the Zoo!
The event, hosted on Saturday, August 3 & Sunday, August 4 from 11am-3pm, continues the celebration of South Philly’s Annual Odunde Festival, the largest African American street festival and celebration of its kind in the country.
Guests are welcome to attend special performances, cooking demonstrations and even learn some moves during an Odunde365 dance class! The West Philly Reading Captains will also be in attendance giving out themed books during the event. African Culture Fest is included with Zoo tickets or membership.
Classes and performances include:
- Afro-Beat Hip Hop Dance Class, Impala Lawn at 11 AM
- African Yoga Class, Impala Lawn at 11:30 AM
- African Cooking Class, Bird Plaza at 12 PM
- African Drum Bead Bracelet Making Class, PECO Primate Reserve Wilcox Plaza at 12:30 PM
- African Mask Making, PECO Primate Reserve Wilcox Plaza at 1 PM
- African Drum Class, Impala Plaza at 1:30 PM
- ONDUNDE365 Finale Dance Performance, Impala Plaza at 2 PM
