Conservation Speaker Series: Kartick Satyanarayan
Join us for a special presentation with Kartick Satyanarayan, Co-Founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS!
Known for his efforts to resolve the illegal practice of ‘dancing’ bears in India, Kartick Satyanarayan focuses on tackling wildlife conservation issues through biodiversity conservation, protecting habitat, and creating conservation and education programs to mitigate human-wildlife conflict in India.
In the fastest-growing country on the planet, wild leopards share overlapping spaces with farming communities and even large cities, where conflicts often arise. Kartick Satyanarayan, co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS, has developed impactful conservation initiatives to save India’s leopards. The comprehensive programs teach communities to live peacefully with leopards, provide extensive rescue and rehabilitation efforts for leopards in distress, and specialize in treating and reuniting wild mothers and cubs so they can return to the forest. If leopards are unable to return to the wild, the nonprofit organization operates one of the largest leopard rehabilitation centers in the world in the foothills of the legendary Western Ghat mountains. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Wildlife SOS, Kartick will share stories, discuss conservation projects, and show stunning photos and videos of his work saving leopards.
