Mommy’s Anniversary Weekend Celebration

Celebrate Mommy’s 94th Anniversary at Philadelphia Zoo, plus the one-year anniversary of the Golden Girls debut!

On April 23, 1932, a 40-pound Galapagos tortoise arrived at Philadelphia Zoo. Today, Mommy is the most famous Galapagos tortoise in the world, and we’re inviting you to celebrate her 94th anniversary party at the Zoo, plus the one-year anniversary debut of her first four hatchlings, the Golden Girls. Stop by the Reptile & Amphibian House Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26 from 11 AM-1 PM for wildlife chats, special anniversary enrichment, photo ops, activities, and more!

Schedule:
  • 11:30 AM – Mommy and the giant tortoises enjoy a special anniversary “cake”
  • 12:00  PM – Galapagos tortoise conservation children’s activity
  • 12:30 PM – Wildlife Chat & hatchlings measurement checkup
